Mask

Photo exhibition “Mask and Dolls” was selected for Taipei Geisai 2011

面具後的我,是一個有感情的凡人,
沉默像鋼索,把我們鎖在彼此看不見的空隙中;

面具是夜色中的帷幕,是日光下的偽裝,
在笑聲與淚水之間,一個世界被隱藏,恐懼遮住呼吸;
但若有一天你撕掉這層軀殼,
脆弱成為你的自由,真實成為你的真相。

Mask upon mask, I am merely a man, a man with feeling,
Silence stretches between us, binding us in a way words never will;
The real loneliness is living amongst kind faces,
All of them asking you to pretend, never to be whole.

Masks adorn both night and day—veils of laughter, walls of tears,
A hidden world behind each smile, where fears roam in quiet shadows;
Yet if one day you dare to drop that hardened shell,
Vulnerability stands triumphant—freedom born in truth, authenticity revealed.
